Tony Kadleck

TonyKadleck Constantly on call for studio or touring work, trumpeter Tony Kadleck has the stellar technique and adaptability to serve a nearly endless list of pop luminaries. Recent employers include Steely Dan and Gloria Esteban; beginning in the 1980s, he provided support for Aretha Franklin, Sting, Elton John, Celine Dion, Johnny Cash, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Barbra Streisand, and many more. Kadleck has loomed large in the jazz world, too, supporting Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Joe Henderson, Louie Bellson, Dizzy Gillespie, and Loren Schoenberg; he’s played in John Fedchock’s New York Big Band, John Pizzarelli’s Swing Seven, Maria Schneider’s Jazz Orchestra, and in the Buddy Rich Big Band. Schooled in jazz and classical music at the New England School of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, Kadleck has even performed with the Metropolitan Opera Brass, the Boston Pops Orchestra and, more recently, the New York Pops Orchestra. At the Manhattan School of Music, one of his instructors was trumpeter Lew Soloff, who now plays alongside him in the City Boys Allstars. Kadleck’s well-regarded solo album, Extended Outlook (1998), has Allstar Andy Snitzer contributing saxophone parts.
